What I Saw at NYFW, Through a Stylist’s Eyes
New York Fashion Week always gives us trends, new collections, and beautiful images. But when you work behind the scenes, you start to notice fashion in a different way.
This season, I had the opportunity to work backstage again with incredible brands, including Michael Kors Collection, Monse, and Carolina Herrera.
Instead of telling you everything that happened on the runway, I want to share what caught my attention as a personal stylist, and what I believe we can actually bring into our everyday wardrobes.
The Detail I Couldn't Stop Looking At

At Michael Kors, there was so much to see: strong black and white, stripes, geometric elements, asymmetry, and beautiful pops of color. But one styling detail really stayed with me: the collar.
Collars were visible. They were part of the look, not something hidden underneath another layer. A shirt under a sweater suddenly feels more interesting when the collar becomes part of the styling.

From the Runway to Real Life

This is exactly why I love runway inspiration. You don't need to copy the entire look. Sometimes one small styling idea is enough.
I brought that idea into my own wardrobe with a button down shirt under a short sleeve sweater, letting the collar and cuffs show. It is a simple change, but it makes the outfit feel much more intentional.
Romance Meets Edge

At Monse, what caught my attention was the contrast. There was deconstructed tailoring mixed with romantic details, hand dyed flowers and tulips, ruffles, feathers, and texture.
I love this kind of combination because our personal style doesn't have to fit into only one category. You can wear something romantic with something structured, something feminine with something edgy, something soft with tailoring. Those contrasts are often what make an outfit feel personal.
Another Special Backstage Moment

Carolina Herrera was another special backstage moment this season. Working behind the scenes with these different fashion houses reminds me how much of fashion lives in the details, and how differently each brand tells its story.
What I’m Bringing Home From NYFW
Working backstage reminds me every season that an outfit is rarely about just one piece. It's about how everything comes together: the collar showing, the sleeve folded in a certain way, the proportion between a sweater and a shirt, the mix of textures, and the unexpected color.
Before buying something new, try styling something you already own in a new way. You don't need a new wardrobe to make your style feel new. Sometimes you just need a new way to look at what you already have.
Fashion can give us inspiration. Personal style is what we do with it.
Stay stylish, stay you.
